Clipboard Tab:
The clipboard represents a storage place for any items that have been copied using the various Copy buttons on the Cue Editor.  Unlike most clipboards in standard software programs, the ShowSim clipboard lets you store more than one item.  The Paste buttons will always operate using the last item copied to the clipboard, but all items copied to the clipboard at any time are stored up until cleared using the Clear button.  This allows you to build a palette of commonly used cues and effects while constructing your shows, rather than having to rebuild common cue configurations or search for the same effects repeatedly.

There are three distinct types of data that can be stored on the clipboard:

Cue Items- these are copies of an entire cue, along with all buckets and the effects on each bucket.  These items will be placed as new cues if dragged from the clipboard and dropped on the cue list.

Bucket Items- these are copies of a single bucket along with any effects that were on that bucket.  These items will be placed as a new bucket on the selected cue of the cue list when they are dragged from the clipboard and dropped on the cue list.

Effect Items- there are copies of single effects that were copied from the effect list of the detail panel on the Cue Editor.   Placing effects that are repeatedly used throughout the show onto the clipboard can make them easier to find each time you need them.  These items will be placed as a new effect on the selected bucket of the selected cue in the cue list.

The only method available from the Effect Browser to get effects from the clipboard into your show is to drag and drop them. More commonly you would use the Paste buttons on the Cue List to move data from the clipboard into your show, thus it is not very common that you will ever need to access the clipboard tab directly.
