Player Controls:
The player controls on the Time Line tool bar work the same as the player controls on the bottom of the main window.  From left to right, the buttons include rewind, stop, pause, play and record.  The record button is unique to the Time Line controls, as it puts the simulator into a special “cue-drop”  mode while playing the show.  The record mode is one of several ways you can place cues in your shows.  When record mode is running, clicking on the wave graph or hitting the space bar will add an empty cue to your show at the current show position.  This method is preferred by many show designers because it lets you listen to the music while dropping cues in real time.  The effects are then added to these blank cues at a later time.

Channel Selector:
The channel selector allows you to view sound data on one of the two channels that WAV files support.  If your WAV file is in mono format, then there will only be one channel.  The sound graph will refresh to reflect the new channel whenever this setting is changed.  In most cases both channels will look similar, so either one makes a good scripting reference.

Size and Position:
Like most utility panels in ShowSim, the Time Line window can be sized and positioned anywhere you like.  The size and position settings will be saved when you close the window, so it will always “remember” these settings when launched.

The Time Line can even be resized and moved around during live play.  The screen shot below shows the Time Line expanded to an unusually large size just as an example of what can be done.  Normally you would want to minimize the height of this window in order to keep it from covering up part of your shows during simulations.

Time Line window can be positioned and set to any size desired.
